A spooky fake antivirus just hit the town – Ghost Antivirus. Beware when you come across sites that promote online scanners. One of them might have Ghost Antivirus just lurking around the corner, ready to sneak into your computer system the moment you allow the online scanner to search your computer for malware.
Once Ghost Antivirus manages to install itself, it will try its best to scare you into purchasing what it alleges to be a “full version” of itself. So how does it scare unsuspecting hosts? First, it launches pop-ups and notifications that look so much like legit Windows security alerts.
Then it hijacks your Windows Task Manager so you won’t have the ability to end certain processes. Sure enough, a lot of people would be frightened enough to fall for their trap. That’s why we’re telling you right now … Don’t buy that so-called “full version” as it is just one useless piece of software. There are ways to remove the virus and they have nothing to do with the full version of Ghost Antivirus.
So when your computer is infected by the Ghost Antivirus, who’re you gonna call? The Ghostbusters? No! We’ve got the best ways to remove them here.
