Yes, SystemCleanerPRO is just another fake antivirus program.
There doesn’t seem to be an end to the creation of malware disguised as legitimate antivirus programs. For as long as gullible people continue to download codecs, mp3s, Flash player updates, and other freebies, we’ll always be hearing about attacks from these types of evil software. Oh, and I forgot to mention warez too. If you’re a sucker for warez, get ready to be duped anytime.
Just like all fake antivirus applications, SystemCleanerPRO launches pop-ups and other notifications. The developers of these rogue software seem to be getting better and better because the notifications do look like legitimate Windows system alerts.
These notifications typically warn you of the presence of malware in your system, adding that the only way to remove these threats is by installing the “full version” of SystemCleanerPRO. Because SystemCleanerPRO also creates files in your Windows system directories, unwitting victims tend to believe in the warnings after conducting a search on the reported threats and finding matching files in the said directories.
So what does the so-called full version do exactly? Well, nothing really. That means, you’ll end up shelling out money for something that’s worth zilch. Want to know how to avoid getting duped? Read on.
Symptoms Of Infection
- Your computer is acting slow. SystemCleanerPRO slow down your system significantly. This includes starting up, shutting down, playing games, and surfing the web.
- You are getting pestered with pop ups. SystemCleanerPRO infects your registry and uses it to launch annoying pop up ads out of nowhere.
- Searches are redirected or your homepage and desktop are settings are changed. This is a symptom of a very serious SystemCleanerPRO infection.
Dangers Of Infection
Viruses like SystemCleanerPRO will infect your registry and other important system files. If the infection is not treated it can cause a complete collapse of your system.

Some SystemCleanerPRO infections contain spyware and keyloggers which can be used to record sensitive data like passwords, credit card, bank account, and social security numbers. The longer you allow the infection to fester, the greater the chance of identity fraud.
