How You Can Prevent Spyware From Attacking Your Computer
Spyware
prevention can be just as important as spyware removal. If your
computer continues to get infected with spyware you need to start
practicing safe internet surfing habits. Here are a few quick
things you can start doing right away.
1.
Use a firewall. I am still surprised by the amount of people who
continue to use the internet without a firewall. Their is simply
no excuses for doing so. Windows XP and Vista users have a built
in firewall that can be enabled. If you do not have Windows XP or
Vista then just download Mcafee or Norton Anti Virus.
2.
Install Mozilla FireFox. Although the IE browser has made
some improvements, FireFox is a FAR superiour browser to protect
yourself with. Since I installed FireFox I completely forgot
about pop up ads, it just completely eliminates them. And I just
find it to be a more browser friendlly program.
3.
Be very careful with peer to peer (P2P) sharing programs.
First off do not download any .exe files unless you have
completely scanned the file for potential spyware or viruses.
Make sure the P2P software you are using does not contain any
added or bundled adware and spyware. Read this article spyware P2P for a list of malignant and safe P2P programs.
4.
Download and install a spyware removal program with real time
spyware protection. Typically this comes in the form of an
ActiveX control. The program No Adware exhibits excellent real time protection.
